The 2018 WYBC Shoot-A-Thon fundraiser event will take place on Jan 28th. The ’Shoot-A-Thon’ event is an incredible opportunity to improve the basketball shooting skills of our youth while raising money for the WYBC. Your donation is helping Waupaca develop a winning basketball program at the youth level which will translate into success at the high school level.
Why should I participate? The WYBC counts on fund raising to continue operation. The club collects about $4000 per year less than it needs to operate from registration fees and tournament concessions, so the gap must be closed with fund raising. The club expenses include tournament entry fees, insurance, and uniform/equipment purchases. It is our goal to raise $15,000 per year so we can do the following: 1) Reduce registration fee’s to below $100 = $8000 in funds needed 2) Summer skills programs offered at no cost to participants with Brian Butch (former WI Badger) and Brian Borowitz (former UWGP Phoenix) = $3000 in funds needed 3) Invest in equipment like post player pads, first aid kits, scheduling software, and other speed/agility tools = $4000 in funds needed Every dollar raised goes directly back to the youth in the program!
We will give away $700 in prizes at the event, so please get involved! More details for the event will be coming soon. Mark your calendars, and an invite has been sent through our SportsEngine app as well!
